Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has moved to suggest that Juventus are readying a fresh assault on Paris Saint-Germain hotshot Blaise Matuidi.
The Bianconeri were determined to recruit the midfielder in the summer transfer window, while the player himself was keen on moving to Turin, but the Saints refused to let him leave.
And even though PSG chiefs are adamant Matuidi will sign a new deal at Parc des Princes, Juventus will make another attempt to secure the midfielder’s services.
Considering that his contract is due to expire in less than two years, the Bianconeri plan to reignite their interest ahead of the January transfer window and offer the 29-year-old a lucrative three-year deal.
While club officials Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici will be working on the deal, chairman Andre Agnelli is also prepared to make an effort to ensure Matuidi joins Juventus at the earliest opportunity.
