Juventus plan Villa swoop
Juventus could make a January move for Barcelona star David Villa, according to Tuttosport.
It is no secret that the Bianconeri want to sign a world-class striker in the January transfer window, with Fernando Llorente, Didier Drogba and Luis Suarez all mentioned as possible targets.
However, Tuttosport claims that the Old Lady are set to turn their attention to Barcelona’s David Villa.
The Spain international is growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of playing time at Camp Nou and he is widely tipped to leave the Catalans in the winter.
With Barcelona doing their best to sign Neymar and having extended Tello’s contract, Villa’s position at the club is unlikely to improve in the foreseeable future.
This is why the player is open to a switch to Juventus, a club that are again becoming a real force to be reckoned with in European football.
Considering Villa has just turned 31 and that he missed most of last season through injury, there is every chance he will be available at a cut-back price.
Inter want Kuzmanovic, Holtby
Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Inter are keeping close tabs on Bundesliga stars Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Lewis Holtby.
With Wesley Sneijder widely tipped to leave the club in the winter, the Neroazzurri hope to add at least one creative player to the squad in January.
Stuttgart midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic could be the first player to arrive at Giuseppe Meazza, given that his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
The Serbia international recently admitted that he wanted to leave the club in January, with Inter ready to pounce.
Schalke playmaker Lewis Holtby is another player on Inter radar, although the problem is he is courted by top English Premier League clubs.
Holtby, 22, also has just over six months left on his contract at Veltins Arena and has yet to decide whether to accept a contract extension.
Both Kuzmanovic and Holtby are well known for their excellent goalscoring ratio and would no doubt be excellent additions to the squad at Giuseppe Meazza.
City close in on Sporting Lisbon wonderkid
Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports that Manchester City are on the verge of signing Sporting Lisbon winger Armindo Bruma.
Bruma, 18, is a member of club’s B side and has yet to be handed a first team debut at Estadio Joao Alvalade.
Manchester City officials have, however, been alerted of the player’s potential and are hoping to sign him in January.
The Citizens had a €4 million bid rejected in the summer, but have already established new contacts with Sporting Lisbon chiefs.
A Bola claims City officials flew to Lisbon earlier this month to speak to Sporting Lisbon president Godinho Lopes and they are confident of closing the deal in the January transfer window.
Manchester City initially plan to add the talented forward to their youth squad, before promoting him to the first team set-up at the start of the 2013/2014 season.
Bruma is widely regarded as one of the biggest talents in world football and is currently a member of Portugal Under-19 side.
