Juventus ponder bid for Spain World Cup star

Juventus are keeping tabs on Benfica full-back Joan Capdevila, Tuttosport has revealed.

The Bianconeri are likely to enter the market in January searching for a new left-back as Paolo De Ceglie looks like the only weak link in the starting line-up.

The club officials are eager to sign a new left-back in January with Joan Capdevila their number one target.

The World Cup winner only joined Benfica from Villarreal this summer, but he hasn’t been registered for the Champions League campaign and coach Jorge Jesus doesn’t think highly of him.

The 33-year-old could present a short-term solution for the Old Lady, before they sign a younger player in the summer.

Juventus have also been linked with Manchester City full-back Aleksandar Kolarov, but his non-EU status could prove a stumbling block.
