Juventus ponder Nastasic swoop

Italian champions Juventus are considering a summer bid for Schalke defender Matija Nastasic, Tuttosport can reveal.

The Bianconeri are eager to recruit a high-profile central defender this summer seeing as Angelo Ogbonna and Luca Marrone are expected to leave.

Taking also into account the fact that Andrea Barzagli and Martin Caceres have largely struggled through injury of late, Juventus appear ready to make a move on long-term target Matija Nastasic.

The Bianconeri missed an excellent opportunity to get the Serbian stopper on the cheap as he instead moved to Schalke, but they believe they can still lure him to Turin.

Nastasic did well to kick-start his career in German Bundesliga following a disappointing spell with Manchester City, but he could be tempted by the prospect of joining Juventus.

At the same time, the Bianconeri have secured the signing of Norberto Neto and are closing in on Juan Cuadrado, meaning they could recruit no fewer than three former Fiorentina stars this summer.
