La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that Juventus are keen to sign Didier Drogba in the January transfer window and have him playing in Serie A when the African Cup of Nations is finished.
Drogba is currently of the books of Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua, but it doesn’t seem as though his move to Asia has gone all that smoothly.
The Chinese top flight is currently in its closed-season and the Ivorian is training with English Premier League side and former employers Chelsea, but is not likely to return to Stamford Bridge.
Although Roman Abramovich would be keen to sign the man that won him in the Champions League, it is thought Drogba is happy to be remembered as a legend at the club and doesn’t want to do anything to damage that status.
So, Juve are looking to bring in some fire-power in the window this season and Drogba is still a very good forward that can cause a lot of trouble for defences.
He might see this as another challenge in his superb career, and could be ready to help the Italian champions reach the latter stages of the Europe’s elite club compeition as they have of course made it to the final 16.
