According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are still interested in signing Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City in the upcoming transfer window.
Apparently, Juventus initially expressed their interest in the midfielder about a month ago. Since then, a number of other clubs, namely Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, have also thrown their hats into the ring. But before they make a decision about letting Phillips join a Premier League rival, City wanted to know if there was still a chance for him to go to Turin.
Upon his arrival from Leeds United in 2022 for £45 million, Phillips was supposed to be a part of a new setup within Pep Guardiola’s ranks. However, the Catalan tactician recently admitted there was no place in there for the 28-year-old, whose transfer away from the Etihad seems imminent at this point.
City are believed to be willing not only to let Phillips leave on a six-month loan in January, but also to cover a part of his wages during that time, and the talks between the two clubs are expected to continue in the coming days.
