Juventus have stated thier intention to keep French striker David Trezeguet this summer, ruling out any possible move to Spanish giants Barcelona according to Sky Sports.
Trezeguet’s agent had claimed that Barcelona were keen on taking the striker to the Nou Camp, but Juventus moved swiftly to refute the claim.
Trezeguet was one of the few high-profile players to remain at the Stadio Olimpico following thier demotion to Serie B in 2006 and has been a prolific goal scorer for Juventus since joining the club 8 years ago.
Trezeguet, 30, has scored 160 times in 272 appearences for the Bianconeri, making him the highest ever foreign scorer for Juventus and the sixth highest scorer in Juventus’ history, one goal behind fifth.
Director Jean Claude Blanc dismissed reports that they would let Trezeguet leave telling Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport: “David will not be going anywhere.”
“We are always trying to improve the quality within our squad and it would be nonsense if we allowed him to leave.”
“Should, as i think and hope, we are able to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League next season, then we will need everyone available.”
