Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport understands that Juventus have reached an agreement to recruit Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto.
The Bianconeri have long been considered favourites for the player’s signature and the latest reports suggest the deal is all but wrapped up.
Neto, whose contract with Fiorentina is set to expire, has agreed a long-term contract with Juventus, with the official announcement expected in the coming days.
The Bianconeri officials have yet to decide whether the Brazilian will be added to the first team squad next season or if he will be farmed out on loan.
Neto is seen as a perfect long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon, who is expected to retire in two years’ time at the latest.
The 25-year-old arrived at Fiorentina from Atletico Paranense in January 2011 and had a pretty slow start to his career at Artemio Franchi.
However, he nailed down a regular starting berth some two years ago and has been performing at a very high level of late.
