La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Juventus full-back Pol Lirola rejected an offer from Barcelona two years ago.
The 19-year-old had come through the youth ranks at Espanyol and his talent was quickly spotted by local rivals Barcelona.
The Catalans attempted to recruit Lirola some two years back, but he eventually decided to accept an offer from Juventus.
That proved a good decision despite the fact that the youngster has yet to make his first competitive appearance for the Bianconeri.
After impressing playing for club’s youth sides, Lirola had a number of offers from Spain and Germany in the summer transfer, but he ultimately decided to join Sassuolo on temporary basis.
The full-back has so far impressed in two Europa League appearances, scoring his first goal for the club in the 3-0 triumph over Athletic Bilbao, and he is seen by Juventus officials as a perfect long-term replacement for Dani Alves.
