Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan could leave the Bundesliga outfit during January transfer window.
Gundogan’s contract is set to expire in June 2017, but Juventus are willing to offer him the chance of a move to Serie A this winter, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian media outlet suggests that Massimiliano Allegri is keen on strengthening the midfield line and that Ilkay Gundogan has been identified as the possible January target.
The Italian champions have lost a number of their first-team regulars and key players at the end of last season with the likes of Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo all leaving the club, so the Italian champions are in a need of fresh blood in their squad.
Juventus boss admits he is considering the options.
“We could bring in a new player if we get the chance to significantly bolster our ranks. If not, we remain with our current crop”, Allegri was quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ilkay Gundogan is definitely on top of the wish list as the Borussia Dortmund’s player has long been linked with a possible move to Serie A.
Speaking to Bild the 25-year-old German international has admitted he is not sure what could happen and has refused to rule out the potential move to Turin, claiming that he keeps his options open.
Gundogan has netted twice in all competitions this season for Tuchel’s side.
