Juventus are extremely keen on signing Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt, according to a report by Corriere dello Sport.
The Old Lady is preparing an offer of a €40million deal for the 19-year-old as they prepare to tackle the problem of having an aging squad. They will, however, face some stiff competition as Barcelona have been monitoring his progress as well and won’t lightly give up on their plans.
But Juve have apparently already set things in motion. The youngster has already visited the club’s facilities in Turin and they are doing their best to influence his decision on the next step in his career. The Serie A title holders aim to build a squad that would be a strong favorite to win every competition they take part in, and adding quality youngsters to the mix seems vital at this point.
Apart from de Ligt, they’re also considering adding Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot (23) to their midfield and 22-year-old striker Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
