Italian champions Juventus have decided to sell star player Stephan Lichtsteiner in the January transfer window, according to Tuttosport.
The Swiss footballer made it clear that he wanted out after the arrival of Dani Alves, but he reportedly rejected a summer switch to Inter Milan.
Nevertheless, with Juventus having left him out of their Champions League squad, Lichtsteiner is almost certain to leave in January.
The defender’s current deal is due to expire in June 2017, meaning that the Bianconeri will attempt to sell him in the winter and avoid losing the footballer on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.
The money earned from the sale of Stephan Lichtsteiner could be used to fund the loan for Matteo Darmian, who is reportedly their number one target to replace the Switzerland international.
After the Switzerland international had an important role to play in helping the club win five straight league trophies, the general impression is that Juventus officials have failed to show the player the respect he deserves.
