Juventus are prepared to enter the race for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen, according to several reports in Italy.
The Denmark international’s contract with Spurs runs out next summer, and it feels almost certain that he won’t be signing a new one. He has been heavily linked with Real Madrid who are on the lookout for such a player as a potential long-term successor to Luka Modric – also a former Spurs man, and Manchester United have been credited with strong interest as well. But now it seems Juventus are also keen on his services.
The Serie A champions have been making the most of such bargain deals in the last two summer transfer windows, acquiring in that way the likes of Emre Can from Liverpool, Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal and Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain. In that way, they’ve been able to direct substantial funds towards some very expensive signings, such as that of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid and Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax.
Spurs’ new manager Jose Mourinho left Eriksen on the bench in his first game in charge, a 2-3 win over West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.
