Juventus are preparing to negotiate with David De Gea and his representatives over the possibility of signing him from Manchester United on a free transfer next summer, according to the Mirror.
The Spanish goalkeeper still hasn’t signed a new contract at Old Trafford and even this season he’s riding on a club-activated 12-month extension. He will be free to talk to potential suitors from the turn of the year, and the Serie A champions are hoping to position themselves at the head of the queue and make a marquee signing without paying a transfer fee, just like they did with Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey.
Apparently, Juventus have been monitoring the situation around De Gea for some time now. Last month, reports emerged that United were looking at Dominik Livakovic of Dinamo Zagreb, a 24-year-old Croatia international, as a potential replacement for the long-serving Spaniard.
De Gea recently suffered a blow at international level, with Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga now preferred between the posts for Spain.
