Competition: Serie A
Market: Juventus to score over 2.5 goals
Odds: 6/5 @ Bet 365
With the chance to briefly extend their buffer at the top of the table to seven points, Juventus will welcome a struggling Torino to an empty Allianz on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Juventus might have marked their return from the enforced break with Coppa Italia heartbreak against Napoli, the Old Lady have bounced back in some style. Putting three past Genoa on the road in midweek and once again holding a four-point buffer at the top of the table, former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has seen his side pick up three straight Serie A wins on the bounce since returning from the interruption. Also landing a thumping 4-0 win against Leece in their last contest in Turin, the Italian giants have now won their last six Serie A appearances either side of the break and have really started to shine in the final third. With both Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala continuing to impress, the defending champions should be looking to make another statement at the Allianz this weekend.
As for the visitors, while the mood in Juventus’ camp appears to be on the rise, the same cannot be said for a woeful Torino. In the midst of what has been a growing crisis after throwing away the lead against Lazio in dramatic fashion earlier in the week, the Bulls have lost nine of their last 11 matchups across all competitions and have freefallen down the Serie A standings. With some in their camp still potentially looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Torino have a growing reputation for their rather glaring issues at the back. Along with shipping a quartet of goals against fellow strugglers Cagliari last month, Moreno Longo’s men have already conceded over 2.5 goals away at the likes of Parma, Lazio, Leece and AC Milan this season. Failing to win any of their last 11 meetings against the defending champions, Torino look set for another overwhelming test this weekend.
