Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Juventus are leading the race for Palmeiras striker Hernan Barcos.
Barcos, 28, is one of the hottest commodities in Brazilian Serie A, with his impressive showings for Palmeiras attracting attention from Italy’s top clubs.
Lazio, Milan and Roma have all been following the experienced forward, but La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Juventus have moved in front of the queue.
The Bianconeri are looking to sign another centre forward in January and are convinced the Argentine would be a great addition to the squad.
Barcos is valued at €8 million and earns around €1 million per season, which is well within Juventus’ price range.
Palmeiras chiefs remain adamant the player is not for sale, but after getting relegated from Brazil’s elite division, the club will have no choice but to listen to offers for the striker.
Barcos has been scoring goals for fun during the last couple of years, netting 96 goals in 160 appearances for Shenzhen Ruby, LDU Quito and Palmeiras.
