Sassuolo chairman Giorgio Squinzi has told Juventus that they will have to delve deep into their pockets if they want to sign Simone Zaza.
The highly rated attacker had been co-owned by the two clubs until this summer, when Neroverdi purchased the player’s contract in full.
Juventus still have the option to buy back the striker for set amounts in 2015 and 2016, and Sassuolo have warned the Bianconeri not to expect any discounts.
“Will Zaza go to Juventus? If the Bianconeri want him, in January they can get their wallets out and buy him,” Sassuolo owner Giorgio Squinzi told Italian news agency Ansa. “For the moment I just hope he puts two goals past Inter this weekend.”
After scoring 9 goals in 33 Serie A appearances for Neroverdi last term, the 23-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant start to the new campaign.
Zaza not only scored two goals in as many matches for Sassuolo, but started the games against Netherlands and Norway for Italy, scoring his first Azzurri goal in Oslo.
Juventus are widely expected to purchase the player at the end of the season, with the buy-out clause reportedly standing at €15 million.
