Juventus will not enter talks regarding a contract extension for Gianluigi Buffon, according to the player’s representative.
The experienced keeper has a deal until June 2013 at Juventus Arena, but the club chiefs have yet to offer him a contract extension.
The player’s agent now reveals that meeting with Juventus officials will only take place after the season is over.
“Juve are very happy with Buffon and Gigi is happy at Juve,” Buffon’s representative Silvano Martina told Radio Sportiva.
“There has been no contact between us and the club about a new deal. We’ll wait until the campaign has come to an end.”
The delay in contract talks has sparked speculations that the 34-year-old could leave the Bianconeri next summer, but Martina claims that is not a realistic possibility.
“That would be a difficult hypothesis at this point in time for Buffon. Buffon could end his career at Juventus, but anything can happen.”
The experienced goalkeeper has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club over the last few years, but it looks as though he will end his career in Turin after all.
Buffon is currently in his 11th season at Juventus, and he has featured in 312 Serie A games since joining the club from Parma.
