Out of favour Tottenham defender, Younes Kaboul will join Aston Villa this summer, according to Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp. The Pompey boss said that he is not prepared to match Tottenham’s valuation of the player.
“I would like a centre-half. Younes Kaboul wants to come here, but I heard Kaboul is going to Villa. I don’t think there is anything he can do about it,” said Redknapp according to Setanta Sports.
“If Villa are in for him he may have to go there. We made an offer with what we thought was a fair valuation but if we want some players in we also need to sell a few.â€Â
Sunderland were thought to be favourites to land Kaboul after they had a bid accepted, but the player claimed that he would not be very interested in a move to the Black Cats. Now Aston Villa look to capitalize on Sunderland’s failure and strengthen their defensive department which has been weakened by the departure of Olof Melberg.
