Vladimir Vermezovic said Carl Bauerrichter is on the verge of signing a contract with Kaizer Chiefs.

The Amakhosi coach has been running the rule over Bauerrichter for the past month and now says if the club and Bauerrichter can agree terms, the 23-year-old goalkeeper will definitely sign.

“We are satisfied with his progress and he will probably sign a contract with Kaizer Chiefs,” Vermezovic told KickOff.com.

The Serbian says the technical team is hugely impressed with what they have seen of Bauerrichter during his trial spell.

“We are satisfied, so now it will depend on negotiations between him and the club. He is a young guy with a good future,” Vermezovic said.

Bauerrichter, the former Ajax Cape Town youth player, is keen to sign with Chiefs.

“My experience at Chiefs has been pretty good and it’s been an honour for me to train with the big names,” he said.

“I have learnt a lot, so it’s been amazing. Now I’m just hoping for a deal, pretty much,” he said.

Bauerrichter will certainly be a welcome addition in the Chiefs ranks, because all their current goalkeepers are uncertain over their respective futures as their contracts have about six months left.
