Kaka close to Milan return; Roma winning race for Destro

Kaka close to Milan return

Milan are set to reignite their interest in Real Madrid playmaker Kaka, Spanish newspaper AS reports.

The Rossoneri attempted to sign their former player few months back, but were forced to pull out because of the player’s wage demands.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admitted few weeks back that the Rossoneri weren’t able to afford Kaka’s salary, but the situation has changed a great deal since.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva set to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain, the Rossoneri could save around €150 million in the space of two years.

The improved financial situation means they are likely to resurrect the Kaka deal and initial talks are expected to take place in the coming days.

This is a perfect scenario for Real Madrid, who are hoping to cash in on the Brazilian and at the same time make way for the arrival of Luka Modric from Tottenham.

Given that all three parties would profit from the deal, the odds are that Kaka will return to San Siro before the summer transfer window is over.

Roma winning race for Destro

Roma are set to complete the signing of Mattia Destro from Genoa, Il Corriere dello Sport understands.

The 21-year-old became one of the hottest commodities of the transfer market following an impressive season with Siena, which has seen top Italian clubs lining up for the player’s signature.

Inter and Juventus were both keen on the highly rated attacker, but it looks as though Roma will beat them to the Italian international.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that the Giallorossi entered the race when they agreed to sell Fabio Borini to Liverpool and they are now very close to wrapping up the deal.

The Italian newspaper states that Roma chiefs have already agreed a deal with both Genoa and the player’s representatives.

The player is currently co-owned by Genoa and Siena, but it is believed that the Rossoblu will buy the remaining half of the contract from Siena before selling it to Roma.

Mattia Destro has been in fine form last season, scoring 12 goals in 30 games for Robur, but it remains to be seen whether he can made the grade at one of Italy’s biggest clubs.

Debuchy nearing Newcastle switch

Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy is on the verge of agreeing a move to Newcastle, according to L’Equipe.

The 26-year-old is looking for a new challenge after spending his entire career at Stade Lille Metropole and he is heavily tipped to leave les Dogues this summer.

Inter Milan have been showing interest in the France international, but it appears he prefers a move to St James Park.

L’Equipe reports that Newcastle are close to agreeing a €7 million deal with Lille, and it is believed they will have no problems reaching an agreement with the player and his representatives.

Debuchy is looking forward to joining the large French contingent at St James Park and his international teammates Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye.

The highly rated full-back, who scored 5 goals in 32 Ligue 1 games for Lille last season, is widely regarded as one of world’s best right-backs and would no doubt become a huge asset for the Magpies.
