Real Madrid playmaker Kaka will miss Brazil’s friendlies against Gabon and Egypt, while Marcelo will also miss out due to injury.

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed on Monday that the pair have been ruled out for the two upcoming clashes.

The former Milan man Kaka is suffering with a calf complaint, while Marcelo has pulled up with a strain to the left thigh muscle.

Kaka has not featured for his country since July last year, when the Selecao crashed out of the World Cup finals in South Africa after a 2-1 defeat against the Netherlands.

The CBF also announced on their official website that Luiz Gustavo would not appear against Gabon.

The Bayern Munich star does not have the appropriate vaccination certification to enter the African nation, and will meet up with the squad when they prepare for the second match of the series.

Brazil take on Gabon in Libreville on Thursday, while the match against Egypt will take place next Monday in the Qatari capital of Doha.
