Kaka to be put up for sale; Marseille star set for summer move

Kaka to be put up for sale

Real Madrid have had it enough with Kaka and they are looking to sell the Brazilian in June, according to AS.

The former Milan playmaker has failed to justify the enormous price tag as he’s been struggling with poor form and injuries, and it now seems his days at Santiago Bernabeu are numbered.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly given the green light to the club officials to try and sell Kaka in June, partly because Mesut Ozil has largely impressed in the attacking midfield position following his transfer from Werder.

Milan and Chelsea have already expressed interest in the Brazilian, but his gross salary of €15 million per season is likely to prove a stumbling block for the potential suitors.

Real Madrid would also require a hefty transfer fee, so it seems that both los Merengues and the player himself would have to make certain concessions if they want to get rid of Kaka next summer.

The Brazilian’s career has clearly started going the wrong way and he would definitely need some time and a lot of backing to get it back on track, but we shouldn’t forget that Kaka was one of the best when he was on top of his game.

Marseille star set for summer move

Marseille defender Taye Taiwo has informed the club of his decision to leave Velodrome when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Nigeria international has been the subject of intense transfer speculations over the last few months and he has now set his sights on leaving the club in the summer.

“I have made the decision not to sign a contract extension. I want to change clubs in June,” Taiwo told The Nation.

“My agent and I are in advanced talks with a club from one of Europe’s top three leagues and I expect to reach an agreement in the near future.”

The 25-year-old is reportedly followed by Tottenham and Liverpool among other clubs, while Juventus, Manchester City and Milan could also join the race.

The player admits to being treated differently at Marseille after informing the club of his decision.

“Because I said I want to leave, the coach now decides when to use me. That doesn’t bother me. I have made up my mind and I have told them I’m going.

“For now, I will not reveal it . When time comes, you guys will hear about it.”

Arsenal target signs new deal

Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho has signed a new deal at Parc des Princes until 2014.

One of the biggest prospects in France was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, but he ultimately decided to accept a one-year contract extension from Paris Saint-Germain.

“I’m proud and delighted to have reached an agreement that suits everyone,” Sakho told the club’s website.

“Now I don’t need to think about it anymore and can concentrate on playing. I’ve been here since I was 13 so I really wanted to sign a new deal with PSG.

“This season we’re near the top and we have to stay there. I have every confidence in the players and staff. I hope the results will follow and that we can go on to achieve great things.”

This will come as a major boost for the Saints before the Europa League last 16 stage clash with Benfica and it also puts the club in a better position for any future negotiations with interested clubs.

The 21-year-old is currently one of the most prized assets in the club and this clearly shows the club’s ambition to continue their recent uptrend in fortunes.
