Kaka will once again be world´s best: doctor

Brazilian star Kaka’s recovery from the surgery he underwent on his left knee in August is on track and he will once again be the world’s best footballer, his doctor Turibio Leite said Tuesday.

“Kaka is doing very well, he is in the final stages of his recovery. He is now seeking muscle balance to be the same player he was in 2007. He will once again be the best,” Leite, who has known the player since he was 15-years-old, said in an interview published in sports daily Marca.

Kaka won the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2007 while he was at AC Milan.

When the 28-year-old underwent surgery on his knee at the beginning of August, Real predicted he would be sidelined for up to four months.

Kaka joined Real for 65 million euros (88 million dollars) in June 2009 at the same time as Portuguese playmaker Cristiano Ronaldo but had a disappointing first season with the Spanish club due to niggling injury problems.

He will return to the pitch in January, according to Marca which based its report on a meeting held Monday between the player, Leite, Real’s medical team and the Belgian doctor who operated on him, Marc Martens.

Kaka’s post has been filled by Germany’s Mesut Ozil, who joined Real before the start of the current season from Werder Bremen.
