Lyon midfielder Kim Kallstrom is set to sign for Spartak Moscow, according to L’Equipe.
The Sweden international is expected to complete his €3 million move to the Russian capital subject to passing a medical.
The experienced midfielder expressed his desire to leave les Gones at the start of last season and he was on the verge of joining Rubin Kazan in January.
The Russian Premier League side reignited their interest in the player this summer, but L’Equipe reports that Kallstrom opted to join Spartak Moscow instead.
The 29-year-old is thus set to leave Lyon after spending last six seasons, during which time he scored 17 goals in 199 Ligue 1 games for les Gones.
Spartak Moscow are now coached by former Valencia technician Unai Emery and they have already signed Romulo from Vasco da Gama and Juan Insaurralde from Boca Juniors.
