Salomon Kalou told Sky Sports that he wants to be a star at Chelsea, much like his Ivorian compatriot Didier Drogba.
The Ivory Coast forward has failed to earn himself a regular place in the Blues’ starting line-up since he signed from Feyenoord for £8million in May 2006.
Kalou agreed a three-year contract extension with Chelsea in October and is happy to be playing with The Blues. However, he dreams to become a first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s side and a fan-favorite at Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old, who could return from a thigh injury against Portsmouth tonight said, “I am happy at Chelsea.
“Every season I try to raise my game and improve my game. I think that every season I have more opportunity to be in the team and show what I can do.
“One day I hope will be a very important player for Chelsea and that is why I am working hard and I like the challenge of improving myself.”
Salomon Kalou was signed in Jose Mourinho’s time as Chelsea manager and can adapt to both the striker and winger position.
