Competition: Champions League
Market: Karim Benzema to score anytime
Odds: 4/5 @ Bet 365
Looking to make the fourth defense of their Champions League crown, European record-breakers Real Madrid will welcome last years semi-finalists Roma to the Bernabeu on Wednesday.
Starting with the hosts, while their 4-2 loss to Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup may have not been a dream start for Julen Lopetegui’s reign, The Whites have been in impressive form in the final third. Although they would be been disappointed with taking just a point against Athletic Bilbao over the weekend, they have scored 11 at the start of the new La Liga season. With Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Juventus, both Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have started the new campaign in impressive form. The pair already have seven combined and the Frenchman also shares top spot in the La Liga goalscoring charts with Lionel Messi.
As for the visitors, although Roma enjoyed a very impressive run in the Champions League last season where they reached the semi-final, it couldn’t have been a worse start for Eusebio Di Francesco’s side. With Roma coming off the back of a very unimpressive 2-2 draw with Chievo last weekend, they’re now without a win in their last four matches in all competitions and their defensive issues will continue to be a worry. Roma have now conceded two or more goals in each of their last four outings and Wednesday could be an incredibly tough task.
