Feyenoord midfielder Karim El Ahmadi has revealed that he is ready to leave Eredivisie for a bigger league.
The 26-year-old was touted as one of the hottest prospects in Dutch Eredivisie few years ago, but his career has since taken a turn for the worse.
The Moroccan has shown a lot of improvement this season, however, and he believes he is ready for a new challenge.
“My goal is to ensure a beautiful foreign transfer,” El Ahmadi told Dutch newspaper NuSport.
“This summer I want more. Playing in the Spanish league has always been a dream of mine, but I am also open to a nice big football club from another country.”
The player managed to kick-start his career following a loan spell at Al Ahli and he believes it was a good career move.
“I felt stuck at Feyenoord. I constantly felt I could do little good. So I thought to myself: ‘I shouldn’t be here. Feyenoord does not suit me. I must leave’.”
