Radio Monte Carlo has suggested that Marseille have all but agreed to sign Dutch defender Karim Rekik from Manchester City.
OM have reportedly agreed a deal believed to be worth between €5m and €5.5m with the Citizens, and they look set to win the chase for the 20-year-old defender.
Rekik was also on the radar of Atletico Madrid as well as other top clubs from Spain and England, but it was Marseille’s ambitious project that ultimately sealed the deal.
OM have already seen Andre Ayew, Andre-Pierre Gignac, Jeremy Morel and Dimitri Payet leave this summer and they will be delighted to welcome the first major signing to the club.
Karim Rekik came through the youth ranks at Feyenoord, but he moved to Manchester City just before he was about to be promoted to the senior side.
The centre-back has since started just one Premier League fixture for the Citizens, while he largely impressed during two loan spells with PSV Eindhoven.
