Karius set for Besiktas stay

The Mirror understand that Loris Karius will not be returning to Liverpool early, despite reports that his loan spell at Besiktas could be cancelled.

The twenty-five-year old was shipped out to the Turkish outfit after a poor end to the season with his parent club, and he has failed to find his best form so far this season.

There were stories suggesting that Besiktas would be looking to send Karius back to Anfield in favour of a move for Belgium striker Divock Origi, though such reports have been dismissed as being wide of the mark.

Karius is on a two-year deal at Besiktas, who are paying half of his wages while they Super Lig side have an option to sign the goalkeeper on a permanent basis in the summer of 2020.

The former Mainz shot-stopper has racked up forty-nine appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, the last of which coming in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid back in May.
