Turkish international forward Colin Kazim-Richards was on Wednesday presented to the press by French side Toulouse after agreeing terms on a six-month loan move from Fenerbahce.
The England-born 23-year-old, known as Kazim Kazim in Turkey, was unveiled prior to his new club’s French top flight game at Nancy. He is expected to make his debut in their League Cup game at Guingamp next Wednesday.
“TFC (Toulouse) showed lots of interest in me and I quickly decided that this is where I wanted to play,” he said.
“I know that there is a huge potential here. They were fourth last season and they want to keep progressing.”
Kazim Kazim, who can play on either wing, is contracted to Fenerbahce until June 11 but Toulouse will have the option to buy him on a permanent basis when his loan spell ends.
He has to date played 12 games in 2009-10, his third season in Istanbul, scoring three goals.
“I’m leaving Fenerbahce without regrets,” he added. “It’s up to me to prove that these six months could turn into something longer. I’ll play wherever the coach tells me.”
Toulouse coach Alain Casanova said Kazim Kazim would offer him a greater variety of options in attack.
“He can play in every position in attack,” said Casanova. “He’s quick, he’s powerful and he puts everything into his challenges, which enables him to make lots of assists.”
