Struggling Blackburn Rovers insist manager Steve Kean is not in danger of the sack, despite the team’s precarious position.
Blackburn sit 13th in the English Premier League table, but are only one point clear of the relegation zone and have not recorded a victory since January.Kean, who took over from the sacked Sam Allardyce in December, is already the subject of speculation tipping him for an exit after just four months in charge. But Venky’s, the Indian poultry company who bought the club in November, insist the 43-year-old Scotsman is secure in his job.”I think it’s absolutely not correct,” Venky’s co-owner Venkatesh Rao told Sky Sports.”The situation is in control. We are very much with the managers. The rumours have come, but we have to work positively.””Blackburn Rovers is very, very positive. I can tell (you) from day one we are there for the club.””We are looking for the season to finish and looking at many more things, such as a training ground and training academy in India.””We are thinking of a long-term prospect. As a team we’ve also got a good bunch of players and the manager is very nice and very positive.””Time will cure the whole thing and we have to keep playing good.”
