Ipswich Town are said to be lining up a move for former England international Kieron Dyer following an injury plagued few seasons at Upton Park.
Dyer has only managed four league starts since he joined the club two years ago and it is believed that a return to his former club could be on the books.
West Ham are likely to want to keep hold of the midfielder but with Ipswich currently struggling near the bottom of the Championship manager Roy Keane has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his squad, and club owner Marcus Evans has already pledged millions to take the Tractor Boys back into the Premier League.
Dyer started his career as a schoolboy at Ipswich before making 96 appearances in 3 years at his hometown club. He then joined Newcastle in 1999 for a fee around £6.5 million before a £6 million move to West Ham in the summerer of 2007.
A potential stumbling block in the move could be Dyer’s £60,000 -a-week wages, or the midfielders possible ambitions of making Fabio Capello’s England squad for the World Cup next year. However, Dyer is believed to want to finish his career at Portman Road and has still visits the area frequently.
