Spanish newspaper AS has revealed that midfielder Seydou Keita could leave Barcelona on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The Malian international has just over two years left on his deal at Camp Nou and he has been heavily linked with a summer exit.
While Barcelona were expected to earn some money from his transfer, AS now claims that there is a clause in the player’s contract that could see him leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The Spanish newspaper believes the clause will be activated if the Keita fails to feature in the set number of games, with the figure only known to the player and the club.
The Malian international has amassed a total of 38 appearances this term, and has spent around 1,800 minutes on the pitch.
The player could be, therefore, free to speak to interested clubs, with AC Milan leading the race for his signature.
