Keita’s Liverpool extension not close?

According to a recent report from Bild, Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita may not be as close to a contract extension as first thought.

While he may be making steady progress in terms of his time in the first team, it still seems as if the Reds and Keita are some distance away from one another when it comes to agreeing on a new deal.

The 26-year-old has been through his fair share of struggles in an attempt to make a consistent dent in the starting XI but there are definitely plenty of fans out there who hold out hope for his future. Whether or not that’s realistic remains to be seen, but Liverpool are going to need as many bodies as they can get their hands on if they’re serious about a title push.

Either way, it’s safe to say things are going to get pretty interesting from the January transfer window onwards.
