Chloe Kelly took to Instagram to voice her frustration at the Manchester City hierarchy after securing a loan move from the club to Arsenal on WSL deadline day.
The 27-year-old England international return to the club where her career started on Thursday in an aim to increase her gametime.
Kelly has started just one WSL game so far this season, with her contract also up for renewal at the conclusion of this season. But her long-term future at her parent club looks in doubt after an angry outburst from her on Instagram on Thursday.
“So disappointed to find out tonight that people at the club are briefing journalists against me if I am to sign at a club before the window shuts,” she wrote.
“They’ve called reporters to assassinate my character and tried to plant negative stories about me in the football media, of which is false accusations. Women should look after each other and build each other up, not shoot them down to protect their employers.
“To those responsible, I am disappointed in this. As said in my previous statement, I just want to find happiness again.”

Kelly did later than Manchester City’s fans and team-mates as she moved away from the club for the first time in five years.
“City fans, I am very grateful for you all, thank you for welcoming me with open arms and the memories shared. And to my team-mates you are all amazing. Thank you for your support,” she said.
Kelly joins an Arsenal side that are currently fourth in the WSL, one place and one point behind Manchester City, while they trail league leaders Chelsea by 10 points. Newly-confirmed full-time manager Renee Slegers is pleased with the addition to her squad.
“Chloe is an exciting attacking player and will be a great addition to our squad as we approach the second half of the season,” she said.
She’s direct and explosive, with huge natural talent and ability. We’re all looking forward to working with Chloe as an Arsenal player in the coming months.”
