Marseille are considering a move for Al Ain forward Jires Kembo-Ekoko, according to L’Equipe.
The French giants look set to turn to the former Rennes starlet after missing out on Florian Thauvin and Romain Alessandrini.
The 25-year-old left les Bretons last summer to join Al Ain, but has been suffering from homesickness and is keen to return to France.
According to L’Equipe, Ekoko is also followed by Bastia and Sochaux, but he would prefer a move to Marseille, where he would be able to challenge for honours.
The French forward came through the famous Rennes youth academy and went on to make 108 Ligue 1 appearances for les Bretons, scoring 16 goals in the process.
In his last season at the club, Ekoko netted 10 times in 31 Ligue 1 matches and was tipped to join a top European club in the near future, but he surprised everyone by accepting an offer from United Arab Emirates.
