Everton chairman Bill Kenwright believes that Wayne Rooney could return to Goodison Park to end his career, according to the Daily Star.
The Liverpool-born forward began his career with the Toffees, scoring seventeen goals in seventy-seven appearances before securing his big money move to Manchester United in the summer of 2004.
Since moving to Old Trafford, the forward has racked up four-hundred and fifty appearances, averaging just under a goal every two games while he has won five league titles, two League Cups, the Champions League and the World Club Cup.
Internationally, he won his 100th cap for England in the 3-1 European Championships qualifying win over Slovenia on Saturday – a game in which he scored his forty-fourth goal for his country leaving him just five short of Sir Bobby Charlton’s record.
England face Scotland at Celtic Park this evening, and Rooney can be backed at 9/2 to get the first goal of the game.
