(GSM) – Harry Kewell is set to stay at Galatasaray after reaching an agreement in principle to sign a one-year contract extension.

The Australia international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Turkish club in recent months but is now set to continue his career at ‘Gala’.

Kewell, 31, revived his career at Galatasaray and largely overcame the injury problems that haunted him at Liverpool.

However, he struggled during the second half of last season after aggravating a groin injury at the turn of the year.

Galatasaray have kept faith with the winger though and he will try to help them win the Turkish league for the first time since 2008.
