German midfielder Sami Khedira will not be moving clubs this summer, Spanish daily newspaper AS has suggested.
The highly rated footballer was widely tipped to quit Santiago Bernabeu following the arrival of Toni Kroos and even coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the 27-year-old would be leaving.
The club officials were also angry with the player for travelling to Leipzig without permission, but the latest reports suggest there has been a major U-turn regarding Khedira.
Namely, Carlo Ancelotti has changed his mind about the Germany star and he now wants him to stay and help the team this season.
This basically means that Asier Illarramendi will almost certainly leave in the next few days, with Athletic Bilbao showing interest in his signature.
Los Leones will probably try and sign the former Real Sociedad starlet on a season-long loan if they manage to eliminate Italian side Napoli and reach the Champions League group stages.
