Sami Khedira says Real Madrid will give their all to win the Champions League, but has given up on retaining their La Liga crown.
The Santiago Bernabeu side are trailing arch rivals Barcelona by 16 points at the moment, but Khedira is adamant they can still win silverware this season.
“Winning La Liga is impossible. However, we are third and our aim has to be to get second,” Khedira said.
“And we are in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and still in the Champions League.
“The dream of all the fans is to win the 10th (Champions League), the ‘decima’, and we’ll do everything we can to achieve it. And we have a good chance.
“However, it will only be possible if we recover our confidence in La Liga. That is still an important competition.”
Real Madrid meet Manchester United in the Champions League round of 16.
