Celtic defensive starlet Kieran Tierney has committed his future to the Scottish club by penning a new six-year contract, according to the Irish Independent.
The 20-year old left back has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in the past few weeks but this new long-term deal will keep Tierney at his boyhood club, for whom he has made 96 appearances, despite his tender age.
The Scotland international has won two Scottish Premier League titles and a Scottish Cup with Celtic, and the talented defender even captained the Bhoys in August for a cup game against Kilmarnock. His exploits in Scotland have not gone unnoticed by the international setup and to date Tierney has earned eight senior caps for his nation.
The two-time PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year is one of the most exciting defensive prospects in world football, and it would now take a significant bid from a major club to lure the youngster away from high-flying Celtic.
