Former Arsenal midfielder Kim Kallstrom is looking for a new club after leaving Swiss giants Grasshopper, L’Equipe can reveal.
The 34-year-old decided to leave the club by mutual consent as he reportedly wants to end his career in Sweden, and his employers didn’t want to stand in his way.
Even though he had a contract until June 2018, Grasshopper agreed to release their captain, who had performed very well since joining the club from Spartak Moscow.
Kallstrom moved to Switzerland on a free transfer in July 2015 and he went on to make 49 league appearances, scoring 1 goal in the process.
The veteran midfielder had made a name for himself at Lyon, spending no fewer than six years with les Gones, winning two Ligue 1 trophies.
After moving to Spartak Moscow, Kallstrom enjoyed a short loan spell with Arsenal, during which he only made a total of three Premier League appearances.
