Simon Kjaer has completed his transfer from Wolfsburg to Ligue 1 outfit Lille.
The French club confirmed the deal on Friday, securing the Dane’s services on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Defender Kjaer is confident that the move will allow him to fulfil his ambitions.
“Let me first say that I am really happy to join the club. Everything a player needs to play at the highest level is met here,” he told the club’s official website.
“I sincerely hope that we can enjoy a good season together and that, at the end of it, everyone will be satisfied with the results.
“I do not forget that Lille did the double two years ago, so we have to help find a way back into Europe, either in the Champions League or Europa League.
“I want to show my very best qualities here and I hope this will be a great experience in my career.”
The 24-year-old, who has won 33 caps for Denmark, has also played for Roma, Palermo and Midtjylland.
