Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer admits he would like to stay at Roma even after his loan deal comes to an end.
The Denmark international joined Roma on loan from the Bundesliga side in January transfer window and has had a mixed success during his short career at Olimpico.
Following several under-par performances, the Dane impressed in last night’s victory over Palermo and he hopes to persuade the club chiefs into signing him on permanent basis at the end of the season.
“I try to improve myself every day in training and I hope that in three months my future is still with Roma,” Kjaer told Sky Sport Italia after the match.
“Here (at Renzo Barbera) I wanted to do well, because I started my experience with Palermo in Italy.
“We worked hard during the week to improve defensively and I think today we played well in defence.”
Kjaer made a name for himself at Palermo, having shown a massive potential soon after his arrival from Midtjylland, but his career at Wolfsburg was plagued by shocking defensive mistakes.
The 22-year-old is looking to kick-start his career at Roma, although he will have to play much better than he is at the moment if he wants to earn a long-term contract.
The promising centre-back started 8 Serie A games for the Giallorossi, while making two substitute appearances.
