(GSM) – Serie A side Palermo have insisted that talented defender Simon Kjaer will not be leaving the club during the current transfer window.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a move away from Palermo with speculation suggesting he could be on his way to the Premier League.
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is understood to be an admirer of the Denmark international, while Tottenham were also rumoured to be keeping tabs on his progress.
The transfer talk has been played down by Kjaer’s father and advisor, although Palermo have now admitted there has been a lot of interest.
Sport director Walter Sabatini has nevertheless ruled out a January departure for the wanted player.
“In January we won’t sell Simon, although many agents and intermediaries have called us on the phone,” Sabatini told sportmediaset.it.
“It is not an option that interests Palermo to sell him now. We want to keep him until the end of the season.”
