Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic admits he could return to Ligue 2 Nantes next season following his loan spell at Bolton, as he felt settled in France.
The 29-year-old striker, who signed for Nantes from Werder Bremen last summer, could not help the French club survive in Ligue 1 as they suffered relegation.
With Nantes forced to shed Klasnic’s wages, the former St.Pauli frontman has joined Bolton on a season-long deal with a view to a permanent deal.
But Klasnic admits he left Nantes with a heavy heart.
“Nantes wants to be back in Ligue 1,” he told Ouest France.
“A return is not excluded, my heart wanted to stay. I liked the players, life was good and I had friends.
“But I took this decision to leave and play in a top division and preserve my place with the national squad.
“Bolton is a new story for me.”
