Borussia Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp says he will not be taking Augsburg lightly when the two teams meet on Saturday.
Augsburg sit at the foot of the Bundesliga table with just one win in 10 games, while the defending champions come into the match following a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Despite the difference in the league standings, Klopp does not want his players to get complacent as Dortmund look to close the nine-point gap between them and league leaders Bayern Munich.
“I think my team has shown that they are in good form, but Augsburg will be hard though,” said Klopp.
“Some people might just look at the table and say that this match will be easy going – but it won’t, we will have respect.
“We know Augsburg and for example we watched the game against Hamburg and it was quite impressive, those games can happen if you’re not concentrating or focused enough.
“We know who we are playing against and we want to keep winning. Against Stuttgart we lost some points but now there should be three again.
“We are very aware of what kind of team we are going to play against but eventually we want to win, that’s it.”
Lukasz Piszczek and Ilkay Gundogan picked up knocks during the midweek fixture in Madrid although both should recover in time.
“I think it’s totally normal that after a game like that some players have problems,” Klopp said. “I hope the problems are not too big but I can’t tell for sure at this moment.
“Lukasz Piszczek got a knock on his knee. Ilkay Gundogan has some problems as well but I just spoke with the doctor and he thinks both are able to train tomorrow.”
