Jurgen Klopp was in a positive mood after Borussia Dortmund side picked up three points at Freiburg.
Despite having to adapt their approach to the game because of snowy conditions, Dortmund took charge in a 2-0 victory.
The former Mainz coach conceded his team could not play in their usual style because of the bad weather and said he made the decision to operate in a more direct fashion.
“We could not go out in this weather and play good football because nature has not allowed it,” Klopp told reporters.
“We came here originally to play good passing football, but it was not possible in this weather, so we had to change our style and use long balls.”
The Dortmund boss also felt it was a personal test of character for every member of his team to secure the win and he was delighted that they came through it unharmed.
“Today was a real test of character for the team and they passed it, and for that I am really proud of them,” he added.
