Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa turned down a return to Borussia Dortmund this close-season, according to Juergen Klopp.
The Japan international has been strongly linked with a move back to Germany with the 24-year-old confirming he would like to rejoin Dortmund in the future.
However, the Bundesliga side’s coach revealed it was now unlikely to ha

“This is not an issue for him this year, not even for us,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
“It was clear relatively quickly, Shinji wants to prevail this year at Manchester United. I did not expect a different answer, you just have to ask even once.”
Kagawa spent two seasons at Signal Iduna Park before joining the Premier League champions in 2012.
However, he struggled with injuries and failed to establish himself as a first-team regular under Alex Ferguson.
Kagawa made 26 appearances in all competitions in his debut season in England, scoring six goals.
